When hugging your children, don’t be the first one to let go. They’ll let go when they are ready-be sensitive to what they are sharing.

Sometimes they start hugging back tighter, because that’s what their hearts are needing.

There’s a whole heap of fine print in motherhood. Sometimes we forget to read it. Sometimes you have to squint tight to see it all clear.

::

Motherhood is a refining fire, bubbling impurity to surface where you see yourself more clear.

Motherhood is splinters and planks, places and spaces of grace where thorns dig deep like oysters polishing ready.

But, most of all, motherhood is where our kiddos witness grace, humbly poured out. It’s where they see imperfection showing up daily, over and over again.

Despite it all.

Because of it all.

::

Welcome your child daily the same way God welcomes you daily.
