Remember that old Aesop tale? The one with tortoise and hare, running for the finish line? How hare bounced high and low boasting its own merits, belittling a slow tortoise?

Here’s what the bunny forgot: the turtle was tenacious, stayed the course even when fluffy rabbit bounced past it, boastful pride puffing.

I wonder if the turtle, deep down in its shell knew this: knew it was called to finish well. Did it know that the mouthy bunny would burnout and need a nap? Did the turtle know that rabbit would be so full of itself that it underestimated all others?

Dear sister, run your race-the one God assigned to you. Stay vigilant, aware of what’s going on around you; but never stop your race.
